Feytal Attraction

A big thanks to Will Scherrer for introducing me to @feytalattaction and assisting me with the shoot. Although no thanks to Will for almost falling off a cliff and scaring me to death. Shooting outdoors does have its challenges.

One of the biggest challenges is the ever changing light. One minute it’s overcast and the light is flat and the next it’s blowing out the highlights. So most of these incorporate flash, sometimes to fill in shadows and sometimes to get some background separation. Take a careful look and see if you can tell how I used the flash for each one. I think there are only a couple in this set that were entirely natural light. I used just a bare Fresnel head, so you’ll see some hard shadows that look a little unnatural in some of these images.

The other thing I did was play with color grading in editing. I didn’t color grade all of them the same way, so I think you’ll notice the difference between the out of the camera shots compared to the ones I spent some time editing.
