There are two galleries in this post.
I was thinking of shooting with balloons and wasn’t quite sure what to do. I initially thought that I’d do a balloon wall and started to look for inspiration. I went on Amazon to see what was available and ended up buying a couple hundred various sized balloons including about a dozen of these large translucent ones.Â
Of course, Ahna is always up to trying whatever I suggest, so I got her into the studio for some play time. We just explored some possibilities with the big balloons and I really liked a lot of the images we had created. That’s gallery one.

Unfortunately, I can’t post any of my shots with Ahna on social media, so when Alexandra and I set up a shoot I suggested we try the balloon concept again but this time with clothes, so I could post some online. The movement of the balloon is unpredictable and it takes a lot of space, so to light the stage I used a big umbrella on camera left as my key light and a stripbox on camera right for a little kick light.Â
