I did a very soft, delicate portrait of Ahna about a year ago. It was a simple image of her standing in front of a burlap-covered table with baby’s breath in a vase. I loved that image and wanted to recreate it with a fall theme. We also have an old white cast iron tub sitting behind the studio that I’ve been wanting to use. Given a fall theme, I envisioned capturing a woman’s back as she leaned over the edge of the tube in a bath of leaves. So, I went through my neighbors’ yards and raked up bags of leaves for the shoot. Scarlett, who I’ve wanted to work with for some time, was my willing model, and she threw herself into the concept (literally threw herself in a pile of leaves).
