I’m seldom happy with my work. But every once in a while, things come together in a magical way and it seems just impossible to take a bad picture. That was precisely what happened in this shoot with Lauren. She is stunningly beautiful. Her posing is impeccable. Jonny’s styling was spot on. The light is beautiful. I used one large light camera-right, mixed with the littlest bit of ambient light. You’ll see one image in this set where I used a gobo to create a dappled sun effect on the background. Generally, I like the texture this provides, but I wasn’t crazy about that look for this styling. The hand-painted backdrop already provided a strong textural element and monochromatic color palette.
