This shoot is one of the top fun shoots of 2023 with designer/artist Musa Mahoney, who creates wearable art made of trash under the brand Trasherella. She was compelled to call me after seeing my shots of Ahna and Nikki doing garbage bag fashion. Musa did some fantastic styling and brought in a great group of models. I knew I’d be shooting with this larger group, and that’s really all the information I had walking in. So I did this broad, high-key lighting setup with a large key light camera left and lots of fill from the front. The models didn’t have to stay on a point. They could move pretty freely in any direction and still be lit, all the while having some contouring and dimension.
